To close the book on another successful NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show, we’ve rounded up some of the best moments from this year’s event. In addition to the new professional audio equipment we debuted, such as a line of DJ equipment and the latest limited-edition ATH-M50x headphones, we were honored to win a NAMM Tec Award for our AT5047 microphone. Our friends at the Lennon Bus also hosted daily giveaways of A-T headphones and presented System 10 wireless systems to songwriting contest winners. A-T’S AT5047 Mic Wins NAMM Tec Award
At the 2018 NAMM Show, A-T was the proud recipient of a NAMM Tec Award in the Technical: Microphones – Recording category for our AT5047 Cardioid Condenser Microphone. The AT5047 is the newest edition to A-T’s acclaimed 50 Series, which also includes the AT5040 vocal microphone and the AT5045 instrument mic. The AT5047 is the best of both worlds, equally at home capturing instruments and vocals.
The premier studio microphone is rapidly becoming the mic of choice for prominent engineers and producers working in a variety of music genres. The AT5047 mic has been praised by multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer, producer, and mixer Ross Hogarth (Keb’ Mo’, Flogging Molly, Van Halen), as well as other notable engineers, including Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Melissa Etheridge, Warren Zevon), and multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer and producer Al Schmitt (Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Diana Krall).
Elliot Scheiner, known for his work with Steely Dan, Van Morrison, and the Eagles, said of the AT5047:
“It's not often that you come across a new microphone that's so outstanding, you would use it on any instrument or vocal. Occasionally I'm asked, if I can only afford one mic, what should I get. The AT5047 is that microphone."
Boasting the widest dynamic range among all A-T microphones, the AT5047 captures the full character of a sound source, no matter how loud or soft. It has been built with four diaphragms that function together to deliver the benefits of an exceptionally large diaphragm, without the drawbacks that typically restrict diaphragm size.
New Professional Audio Equipment
We were also excited to debut our newest professional audio equipment, including the newest limited-edition of our critically acclaimed ATH-M50x headphones. The new ATH-M50xBB headphones come in an attractive blue/black color scheme and will be available in March 2018.
A new line of disc jockey equipment was a fan favorite, offering two new sets of headphones, a new turntable, and two new cartridges. The new ATH-PRO5X Professional Over-Ear DJ Headphones are designed to stand up to professional DJ use, while the ATH-PRO7X Professional On-Ear DJ Headphones provide extremely accurate high-fidelity audio reproduction, even at high volumes. Additionally, the new AT-LP1240-USB XP Direct-Drive Professional DJ Turntable was unveiled, providing a variety of DJ-friendly features and exceptional music reproduction. The final DJ equipment releases were the AT-XP5 and AT-XP7 DJ Cartridges, which were built specifically with the needs of DJs in mind.
 Lennon Bus Giveaway Winners
Our friends at the Lennon Bus also held daily giveaways where attendees had a chance to win a pair of ATH-M50x headphones or a System 10 Digital Wireless System. Congratulations to all the winners of the Lennon Bus giveaways, as well as John Lennon Songwriting Contest winners Olivia Millerschin and Red Letter Day, both of whom received a System 10 as part of their award packages.
