This year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) showcased a variety of innovative technologies, from 4K televisions and 3D printers to cutting-edge audio equipment – and Audio-Technica was at the forefront of the action with our SonicFuel™ Experience. We invited audio dealers and members of the press to experience our new SonicFuel ATH-CKX line of headphones during 20-minute sessions – which included a demonstration, fitting and photo op with a complimentary pair of ATH-CKX5iS headphones – and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

  Not only were the sessions booked solid,  we were thrilled to see that the excitement for the SonicFuel experience continued after the show – here’s what some of the participants had to say… “An even much better experience…compared to my custom molded earphones.” -David Susilo Sound expert David Susilo was among the earphone-haters converted by SonicFuel in-ear headphones after his SonicFuel Experience: “As sound quality goes, because the inner-ear buds block so much outside noise, the sonic experience is paramount… or as paramount as a $50 (yes, only $50) earbuds can deliver. It’s an even much better experience when compared to my custom molded earphones I purchased for $300 several years back.” “Everything I threw at these 5iS’ sounded great.” -Digital Hippos Mike Garcia of Digital Hippos likewise marked the ATH-CKX5iS as the solution to many problems we typically face with in-ear headphones: “Too often headphones in my experience are a little too bass heavy and can have an artificial sound to try and cover up their weaknesses. Everything I threw at these 5iS’ sounded great. They had great dynamic range while listening to classical orchestrated music, really hearing those subtle quite moments and getting loud when needed.”

 “The [SonicFuel] may have an option that’s just the right fit for you.” - Sound & Vision Lauren Dragan of Sound & Vision recently got her hands on the ATH-CKX7iS and here is what she had to say: “Folks that like an ‘exciting’ sound like this may really appreciate the boost when competing with the noises of a long commute. He also spoke with people who took part in the SonicFuel Experience, and they had this to say: "Once fitted, I could shake my head and move all around just as I would during exercise, and not only did the headphones stay on properly, all the while the sound quality, which was very good, never changed." –Harris Fogel, Mac Edition Radio "The comfort level of the eartips and C-tips is high and the 360-degree rotating eartip is a highly useful feature to have. I was surprised at the sound quality considering it came from 8 mm drivers, and how little sound I heard from the treadmills and ellipticals around me." –Hakan Y Can, BooredAtWork.com “The big selling point of these earphones is the pivoting nozzle.” -The Headphone List The Headphone List had rave things to say about the ATH-CKX5iS model: "The big selling point of these earphones is the pivoting nozzle. We’ve seen this before with VSonic earphones, for example the GR07 model I had with me at the show, but in the Audio-Technica implementation the nozzles have greater freedom and pivot more easily, leading to a very compliant fit. I got to try (and take home) the entry-level CKX5iS headset and can confirm that with the ear fins (which come in three different sizes) and adjustable nozzles the fit is very much locked-in."
