Here, the Audio Solutions Department makes the process easier for you by walking you through it step-by-step so you can enjoy your headphones on the big morning. ath-sr5btHow To Pair

  1. Begin with the headphones powered OFF. If you choose to wear the headphones while pairing, you will hear beeps that confirm the steps in the process. If you choose not to wear the headphones, you can watch the indicator light for confirmation.
  2. For best pairing results, make certain that the device you are going to pair with the headphones is not currently paired and active with any other wireless device.
  3. Turn OFF the Bluetooth functionality on the device you are going to connect to.
  4. Slide the headphones’ power switch into the ON position. You will hear a beep (or see the indicator light flashing blue and red) signaling that the headphones are in pairing mode.
  5. Turn ON the Bluetooth functionality on the device you are connecting to.
  6. Select the ATH-SR5BT headphones from the Available Device list (if applicable) on the device you are connecting to.
  7. The headphones will connect to the device and you will hear a beep in the headphones indicating that the pairing was successful.

The pairing process for other wireless headphones and devices may differ slightly from the above instructions, but will be very similar.

Audio-Technica wireless headphones use an internal rechargeable battery. On most of our models, if the battery is low, you can plug in the included detachable cable to continue to listen to your music. A USB charging cable is also included with all models. 1. Hello, I’ve just purchased the ATH-SR5BT and love it. I can connect it to my iPhone really easily, but have not been able to connect it to my iWatch (the reason I bought them!) The match can see the headphones, but when I select the device to pair, it doesn’t and I get a message to ensure the headphones are turned on and within 3 metres (they are). Any help would be really appreciated… many thanks, Alison

  2. Hi,

Just an update for anyone else who may have the same issue… the way round this is to switch the iwatch off, switch the headphones on and then restart the iwatch. It’s also possible that having your iPhone out of the way (or with Bluetooth off and/or flight mode on) helps. I seem to need to do this every time I want to connect which is a bit of a pain – but once connected the headphones do work really well with the watch!

  3. Hello,

    I have purchased the ATH-SR5BT.
    I found something inconvenient.
    SR5BT didn’t support Multi Connection.
It is a very big shortcoming.
Please Firmware update for Multi Connection.

  4. Like the other headphones made by Audio Technica, this model has a definite edge when it comes to connectivity. The full range signal and transmission are high quality, especially if you’re outside. They can easily connect to any compatible smartphones or portable devices. They’re also programmed to save the last paired devices to re-connect with automatically later. The ATH-DSR9BT as a Bluetooth headphone is superb. Refer for more.

  5. I just got a new headphone and really found it difficult connecting the Bluetooth to my laptop. These steps are quite clear and precise and I can sure give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I have an almost brand new pair of AR3BT-BKs. They seem to have suddenly stopped being able to pair with anything. Are there any remedies for this problem, short of returning them? Thanks

  7. After multiple tries, I managed to “reset” the headphones using the USB cable, and they paired with difficulty, after at least a minute or two of waiting, with my laptop. I’m thinking there may be something wrong with this pair, though. Please advise.

  8. Is it possible to pair to multiple devices at once? For example: pair to my phone and laptop, listen to music from my laptop, receive a call on my phone and take the call?

  9. I bought the audio technica ath-sr5bt and it was working perfectly fine until the microphone stopped working. This happened 2 weeks after i bought it.
I am not sure what happened plz help

  10. How do I connect these (Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BT) via bluetooth to my windows 7 pc?
It seems that windows requires some AT-specifik drivers.

  11. My Galaxy S7 can’t see my MSIP-CRM-JMF-ATH-ANC4OBT. My S7 is able to see other devices

  12. Hi , I purchased the ATH-DSR7BT expecting to use them for Lossless audio listening using a Dac and amplifier , and to double as blue tooth for listening on my phone as welll as taking calls. But I want aware they are digital, so as dr as I know there isn’t a way to amplify a source and get it to these over a USB connection. Unless a dongle will work . These sound great even over BT , but the listening volume is not as loud as I prefer, any suggestions short of returning and purchasing the 50’s or comparable?

  13. But how to charge ath-ar3bt. The charging wire seems broken. Can I use other USB B micro wire to charge, and will this operating safe or not bad to my earphone?

    • Hi there! It is recommended to charge only with the included USB cable to avoid malfunction or fire (per manual page 2). Replacement cables may be purchased through the Parts Department at Thanks! – A-T USA

  14. hi,
I have the model ATH ANC40BT.
i paired them with my Galaxy Note 10+ like three weeks a go and process went well.
yesterday in the car, the phone connected to the car system Parrot at the same time when connected with the headphones. After that moment the headphones stopped working and they are virtually undetectable for any device (phone, laptop…). they simply do not appear at any BT scan on any device. please give me some info if you have.
