How do I set up my PC for use with the ATR3350iS microphone?Answer: The following instructions will assist you in setting up your PC so that its internal sound card will work with the ATR3350iS lavalier microphone. While some of the pictures used here may not match exactly what you see on your computer, they should be similar enough to guide you through the process. If you missed last week’s post about how to connect the ATR3350iS to your computer, you can read it here.
- Plug the ATR3350iS 3.5mm TRS cable into the microphone input on your PC.
- Access your Sound Settings by right-clicking on the speaker icon in your task bar. Select “Recording Devices.”
- The Sound Settings window will open and look similar to the picture below.
- Right-click on the microphone and select “Properties.”
- Click on the “Levels” Tab and adjust the levels to your desired specifications.
- To hear the microphone signal through your output device, click on the “Listen” tab and select “Listen to this device.” This will allow you to monitor the input signal. Press OK when finished.
- Back on the Sound Settings window, click on the “Playback” tab and make certain your computer’s internal speakers are set as the default device. If it is not, select this as the default device by right-clicking on the Speakers and selecting “Set as Default Device.”
