A-T’s Recap of AES NY 2017

Last week, our team traveled to New York for the 143rd AES Convention. The annual event is one of the largest gatherings of audio professionals in the nation and is hosted by the Audio Engineering Society, of which Audio-Technica has been a proud, long-standing member.

Each year, AES NY features the latest professional audio gear on display for both industry veterans and audio students alike to try for themselves. In addition to the exciting technology exhibits, AES also has great opportunities to network with well-known industry professionals.

One of the highlights at AES NY 2017 was the much-anticipated debut of the limited-edition red and gold M50xRD headphones.

Known for their professional audio clarity and superior comfort, the ATH-M50x headphones are the most critically acclaimed model in the M-Series line. The new M50xRD headphones offer all of the same beloved traits of the iconic ATH-M50x headphones, but with a stunning new color scheme of red and gold. Perfect for extended use, the limited-edition M50xRD headphones add style to your long days in the studio or live-streaming sessions.

The new AT5047 cardioid condenser microphone was also on display during this year’s event. Part of the 50 Series, the AT5047 boasts a wide dynamic range that captures the full character of even the loudest or softest sound sources. Perfect for amplifying both vocals and instruments, the AT5047 is ideal for either in-studio recordings or live performances.

In addition to the exciting new technology exhibited, AES has great opportunities for both industry veterans and audio students to network. A-T’s booth had special visitors, including renowned recording studio audio engineer Geoff Emerick and Grammy Award-winning music producers Elliot Scheiner and Frank Filipetti, as well as industry icons Ed Cherney, Al Schmitt, and Chuck Ainlay.

We’d like to thank everyone who stopped by the A-T booth at AES NY 2017, and we can’t wait to see you again next year!
